On Sunday, what is being called “one of the deadliest mass shootings in American history” occurred in Las Vegas.
The mass shooting took place at the Route 91 Harvest Festival, a three-day country music event near the Mandalay Bay Hotel. The gunman used an automatic weapon to kill more than 50 people and injure hundreds of others before he reportedly killed himself.
Hikvision joins others around the world who are stunned and saddened by this horrendous attack. Hikvision sends its condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims, and to the people who work and live in the city of Las Vegas.
Las Vegas is a place where the security industry comes together every year for the industry’s largest security show, ISC West. In 2018, ASIS—the other major security show—will also take place in Las Vegas.
Hikvision and our competitors in the video surveillance industry, and in the entire security industry, are in the business of combating domestic and international terrorism and criminal activity. Today we are reminded of the importance of our mission, of the technology we provide, and of the importance of uniting as an industry to do what we can to ensure that horrific attacks such this are prevented in the future.
Hikvision is flying our flags at half-staff today as a sign of our respect and support for the victims of the attack and their families.
