Hikvision Canada Inc. sponsored a table and participated in the 24th Annual Starlight Children’s Foundation Gala to raise funds in support of Starlight’s vital in-hospital and out-of-hospital programs for children struggling with illness and their families across Canada.
Held at the Westin Harbour Castle in Toronto on Saturday, March 23, Starlight Canada’s 2019 gala hosted a fairytale theme and included on-site activities including a silent auction, Secret Garden Key Raffle, a "Once Upon A Time" themed photo booth, as well as dinner and dancing.
Clark Northcott, Hikvision Canada distribution sales manager, and Lorne Terry, Hikvision Canada sales director, expressed their pride in Hikvision’s commitment to supporting the organization as a table sponsor. “Starlight Children’s Foundation Canada is an amazing charitable organization that grants wishes to chronically and terminally ill children. Starlight Children’s Foundation Canada does a fantastic job of assisting families during difficult times of challenges and worry. As a young woman said during the gala event: ‘Starlight helped save our family,’” Terry said.
Northcott attended the gala with his wife, Gina. The Northcotts have been a Starlight Family since January 2018, and their daughter Ella’s dream trip was granted through the Starlight Wish Program, which gives a seriously ill child the opportunity to select a once-in-a-lifetime experience. As a Starlight child, Ella valued her Starlight Wish trip and wanted to raise money to cover the cost of sending another child on a Starlight trip. The family hosted a special fundraiser, “Ella’s Homemade Wish Bones,” selling packages of dog wish bones and raising CAD $3,000 towards their goal.
“As a Starlight Family, we are excited to give back by raising money with our daughter, Ella, to help another child receive their Starlight Wish Trip. It is a privilege to work for a company like Hikvision that shares our passion for this organization and sponsored the gala for the second year in a row,” said Northcott.
