Hikvision Demonstrates Proactive Approach to Cybersecurity with Key Initiatives
Hikvision has demonstrated its dedicated approach to cybersecurity with key initiatives that aim for transparency, responsiveness and proactiveness. From a wide range of ISO certifications to becoming a CNA and releasing our Zero Trust White Paper, our goal is to actively participate and promote a solid cybersecurity environment in the physical security industry.
Take a look at Hikvision’s cybersecurity milestones and industry-leading standards that our products currently meet: Hikvision Cybersecurity Milestones.
Security Sales & Integration noted in 2018 that Hikvision was among “the most proactive”
manufacturers in the realm of cybersecurity, citing examples such as our Cybersecurity Hotline
and the Source Code Transparency Center. Since then, the company has achieved its “CNA” (CVE Numbering Authority), the U.S. Government Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) 140-2 Level 1 certification, released several cybersecurity white papers, and delivered global cybersecurity educational programs.
Named by Security magazine as a “Top Cybersecurity Leader of 2021,” Hikvision’s senior director of cybersecurity, Chuck Davis, has been a cybersecurity thought leader, providing both high-level insight and education to the industry. In his guest authored article in Security Sales & Integration (SSI), Davis recommended the need for greater interoperability standards as IT and physical security converge.
“Standards create a common baseline for products. From an interoperability perspective, standards allow devices from different manufacturers to work with each other. From a cybersecurity perspective, standards provide a checklist of requirements that protect devices from known cyberattack methods,” said Davis in the SSI article.
