Hikvision raises $2,790 for Mission 500 service project
Employees from Hikvision USA Inc. recently raised funds and helped a family make much-needed repairs to their home in Puerto Rico as part of a Mission 500 security industry service project.
Hikvision raised $2,790 for the project, and three Hikvision employees joined 18 other security industry professionals on the November service trip to Ponce, Puerto Rico. For three days, the group worked alongside family members to repair their home, which was severely damaged more than one year ago during Hurricane Maria. The group replaced a roof and exterior walls, repaired plumbing, cut and removed downed trees, and also provided cleaning supplies, groceries, as well as toys for the family's children.
"Hikvision employees found it extremely rewarding to work with Mission 500 and other security industry professionals to contribute to a new beginning for this family," said Alex Asnovich, Hikvision Senior Director, Global Public Affairs, and Head of Marketing for North America. "Corporate social responsibility is a company value at Hikvision," he added.
Mission 500 is a nonprofit organization that works with the security industry to serve the needs of children and communities in crisis. An active partner of 500, Hikvision employees in 2018 participated in the third annual Mission 500 Hockey Classic in Feb. in Toronto and the Security 5k/2k at ISC West in April. This month, Hikvision is spearheading a Mission 500 project to provide school and hygiene supplies to students at Title 1 schools in East Hartford, Conn.
