Hikvision employees joined other security industry volunteers to help repair two families’ homes damaged by Hurricane Maria
For the second year in a row, employees from Hikvision USA Inc., a leading provider of security hardware equipment and software solutions, joined other security industry volunteers to help two families rebuild their homes damaged by 2017’s Hurricane Maria. In addition to renovating the homes, Mission 500 raised more than $13,000 to provide financial assistance to the families.
Hikvision contributed $1,500. Its three employees—Shane Nikov, Stephen Litton and Edwin Rosario—joined 27 other volunteers who worked together alongside family members for three days on the October service trip to Ponce, Puerto Rico.
“One house was essentially rebuilt from the foundation up by reinforcing unstable flooring, installing new siding and a new roof. The second house received a small addition and a new bathroom that replaced an old outhouse. One house received a new washing machine, and the other received a new refrigerator. The team also provided new doors for bedrooms, bedsheets and carpet to provide improved living conditions for the families,” according to Mission 500.
“We’re proud of our Hikvision team members who dedicated their time and efforts to make a real difference in two Puerto Rican families’ lives,” said Marianne Chew, Hikvision director of marketing. “Corporate social responsibility is a Hikvision value, but it’s carried out by the commitment from our employees.” Chew attended the 2018 service trip.
