Hikvision Reports Solid Growth For First Half of 2018
Hikvision's recently released financial results for the first half of 2018 again show year-over-year double-digit increases in operating income and net profit.
During the reporting period, January 1 to June 30, 2018, the company achieved total operating income of $3.06 billion (RMB ¥20.88 billion), representing a 26.92 percent increase over the RMB ¥16.45 billion reported in the first six months of 2017.
Net profit attributable to shareholders of the company for the first half of 2018 is up 26 percent on a year-over-year basis at $608 million (RMB ¥4.15 billion) this year compared to RMB ¥3.29 billion in 2017.
EPS (earnings per share) were up 25.77 percent in this reporting period, at $.06 (RMB ¥0.449) compared to RMB ¥0.357 in 2017.
The company’s weighted average ROE (return on equity) was 13.08 percent consistent with last year’s average of 12.98 percent.
Hikvision remained focused on improving the management and operational efficiency of the company while also strengthening channel marketing, project sales and technology partner collaboration.
To drive continuing commercial success and growth, Hikvision is making major investments in local sales, marketing and service networks around the world. During the first half of 2018, the company established more than 10 new regional offices in overseas markets, designed to increase sales, delivery and customer support offerings in local markets.
Hikvision is a public company listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange.

Important milestones in the past six months include: Hikvision's Thermal Bi-Spectrum IP camera being named the 2018 ESX Innovation Award winner in the video surveillance category; and Hikvision receiving both the “Supplier of the Year 2017” award, and the “Growth Award” from its distributor partner The Edge Group.
In addition, as part of Hikvision's industry-leading cybersecurity program, this year the company launched a series of cybersecurity road shows taking place in cities across the U.S., and it established the industry's first Source Code Transparency Center.
