Hikvision Shows Commitment to Cybersecurity, Gains New Network Camera Security Certificate
Hikvision shows its commitment to cybersecurity by investing in a series of ongoing activities to support the company’s physical-cybersecurity support initiatives, including valuable certifications. Recently, numerous Hikvision network camera product models achieved the Certificate of Common Criteria for Information Technology Security Evaluation with assurance type EAL3 augmented with ALC_FLR.2 (EAL3+).
The Common Criteria (CC) certification evaluates the security and reliability of information technology products or solutions and focuses on the protection of private information. Hikvision’s CC EAL3+ certificate represents the highest level of security certification granted to products in the video security category. As part of the process, Hikvision successfully passed the rigorous evaluation performed by the globally-recognized evaluation institute, SGS Brightsight laboratory.
A widely recognized international standards (ISO/IEC 15408) in information technology security, the Common Criteria certification is recognized by the National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP) under the U.S. Department of Defense.
Hikvision continues to provide resources for integrators, end users, and the community, and invests in ongoing activities for cybersecurity. These activities include network penetration testing by leading cybersecurity experts, and partnerships with third parties such as Rapid7 for penetration testing to assess, evaluate, and identify security weaknesses.
