Hikvision system integrator, Mission Protection Systems, won an SSI SAMMY Award at ISC West 2019 for its installation of Hikvision thermal cameras at the Newark, Calif.-based facility of Mission Linen Supply, a linen, and uniform service provider. The award was announced on Tuesday, April 9 at the Security Sales & Integration (SSI) 24th annual SAMMY Awards, which honor dealers and integrators for their sales, marketing, business and installation excellence, and was held at the Venetian Resort Hotel Casino in Las Vegas.
Mission Protection Systems was recognized with the SAMMY Award for the best ‘Integrated Installation of the Year’ for the small to mid-sized company category for its installation of seven Hikvision thermal network bullet cameras at the Mission Linen Supply Newark facility. Thermal cameras were placed strategically to monitor the interior and perimeter of the laundry sacks in areas with the highest risk of overheating. Equipped with a reliable temperature alarm and an advanced fire detection algorithm, Hikvision thermal cameras provide temperature and fire monitoring around the clock, even when the plant is closed.
“Mission Protection Systems is excited to be honored with the SAMMY award for our work. The unique, customized Hikvision thermal camera application for temperature and fire detection at Mission Linen Supply required a team effort to meet the precise needs of the client and to ensure asset protection. To be recognized for such an innovative installation is truly rewarding,” said Susan Smith, director of sales and marketing for Mission Protection Systems.
As temperatures start to rise, the cameras detect temperature increases and trigger a relay at the intrusion alarm panel. This transmits a supervisory signal to an offsite central monitoring station hosted by Mission Protection Systems, who then calls Mission Linen Supply to notify them of the rise in temperature. At this stage, the customer can request that the monitoring station dispatch the fire department, as well as view the cameras remotely from their phones or computers.
