Hikvision Traffic Management System Rolled Out in Myanmar
An Intelligent Video Management System provided by Hikvision, the world’s leading supplier of video surveillance products and solutions, is improving vehicle flow and driving standards in Yangon, the largest city in Myanmar. A recent Hikvision Corporate case study gives details about the project.
Yangon’s population has grown to more than seven million people, with total vehicles on the streets increasing significantly in the last decade. This resulted in increased gridlock, fatalities and traffic rule violations. Hikvision provided a traffic management platform to integrate vehicle checkpoints, violation detections, video surveillance, illegal parking detection, intersection control and data into a single system. Hikvision’s traffic management system has been used in many successful projects in the Chinese market.
“Implementing Hikvision’s design, installation and commissioning of the comprehensive Traffic Control System in Yangon with Hikvision’s integrated subsystem, enables us to have access to live traffic information and the detection of red-light violations,” said Than Win, vice chief secretary of Yangon City Development Committee. “Hikvision’s subsystem illustrates the success that can be achieved to control non-compliance with traffic laws.''
“Yangon is an example of Hikvision’s innovative technology in action to solve real-world challenges for cities. Cities in regions in the world, beyond the Chinese region, can benefit from these smart technologies as well,” said Jeffrey He, president of Hikvision USA Inc., and Hikvision Canada Inc.
