Hikvision’s Deep Learning Surveillance Technology Facilitates Smart Retail Solutions
Hikvision’s deep learning surveillance technology facilitates smart retail solutions with features such as people counting, heat mapping and queue detection.
“Retailers want cost-effective, high-value solutions that can leverage existing technologies at their stores. They are excited about video analytics that support loss prevention, marketing and operations. Analytics such as people counting and heat mapping technology can measure the impact of an ad campaign or inform level of traffic flow into stores and around specific in-store displays to gauge effectiveness,” said Cliff Miller, Hikvision’s National Accounts, Retail.
Hikvision’s dual-lens people counting surveillance camera allows retailers to gather accurate data on customers using a deep learning algorithm to overcome interference. It also distinguishes human beings from non-human objects, and can be trained to improve data accuracy over time.
Retailers can identify hot spots and dead zones, measuring the number of people who shop for specific products, using Hikvision’s heat mapping function. Heat mapping is used to monitor and measure the size of target traffic in a region using a graphical representation of data represented by colors, according to a Hikvision press release.
Additionally, Hikvision’s queue-detection feature can trigger an alarm if too many people are waiting in line, so that store management can promptly reduce waiting time and improve the shopping experience.
