Security Leaders Share Top 5 Industry Trends for 2018
Hikvision Outlines Cybersecurity Roles for Manufacturers, Installers and End Users
Industry leaders from PSA Security Network and IHS Markit, among others, provided their top five security industry trends for 2018 in leading publication, Security Sales & Integration(SSI).
“Building management system platforms were increasingly being used to accomplish more tasks than just connecting and integrating energy and security domains in buildings,” said Blake Kozak, principal analyst for the security technology group at IHS Markit, in the piece. He added that “Video surveillance products featuring deep-learning video analytics continued to be a big trend. Increasingly, the technology is being developed into vertically-focused solutions that are marketed for specific applications.”
Bill Bozeman, the president and CEO of integrator cooperative PSA Security Network, offered up the following 2018 trends:
- Integrator business models will continue to move to the managed services program [MSP] model
- A continuation of the consolidation of security integrators and manufacturers
- An increase in workplace diversity, with professionals from “a variety of education backgrounds and specialties”
