SIA Announces $15K in RISE Scholarships Available for Young Professionals
Hikvision Encourages Eligible Employees to Apply for Scholarship Funds
The Security Industry Assocation (SIA) has announced $15,000 in scholarships available to support education and career development goals for young security professionals who are SIA RISE members. Scholarship funds will be awarded as $3,000 grants to five individuals.
SIA launched the RISE group in 2016 to foster the career development of young professionals in the security industry. RISE membership is open to professionals under the age of 40 or those have been in the security industry less than two years, and who are employees of SIA member companies.
SIA scholarship awards are designed to support professional and educational goals for young security professionals and can be applied to these programs:
- SIA programs such as Security Project Management training seminars, and SIA conferences such as Securing New Ground
- Courses, programs or events in the information technology (IT) or cybersecurity field
- Professional courses provided by colleges, universities and private education providers that support the individual’s security industry career
Hikvision is a SIA member company, and encourages all its eligible employees to submit an application for the RISE scholarship fund. In 2018, Hikvision sales associate Matthew Elder was awarded a SIA RISE scholarship.
