Joint Study Finds Manufacturers Face Security Concerns
Hikvision Offers Online Cybersecurity Center and Resources to Help Prevent Malware, Reduce Security Concerns
A new joint study by the ISACA and CMMI Institute, “The Cybersecurity Culture Gap,” found that the manufacturing industry is facing security concerns about IoT, security training, and finding skilled cybersecurity workers, according to an article in Security magazine.
“Three-quarters of U.S. manufacturing firms have fewer than 20 employees and 98 percent have fewer than 500. To shore up the resiliency of the U.S. supply chain, reaching small manufacturers is essential, and understanding their needs and capabilities is a crucial initial step,” says Kevin McDunn, chief product officer of DMDII, in the article.
Additional survey results in the article unveiled the following:
- 78 percent of manufacturers have instituted a formal cybersecurity incident process
- 68 percent have a formal process for ransomware malware attacks
- 34 percent reported more cybersecurity attacks today than a year ago
- 74 percent of respondents believe their company’s cybersecurity training budgets would either increase or stay at the current funding level
