“In 2018, more than 600 known cybersecurity data breaches exposed more than 22 million records, according to [research firm] Statista. Despite the massive number of breaches, professional services firm Deloitte recently found that only 25 percent of organizations are scenario planning to defend against these attacks,” according to the article.
Article tips included increasing investment in threat detection such as cyber threat intelligence and analytics. Deloitte also recommended that company’s merge IT security and business risk management: “To grow, streamline, and innovate, organizations must integrate IT security into leadership and business decisions,” said the article.
Cybersecurity professionals should actively engage senior leadership to develop cyber risk reporting and invest in cybersecurity protocols.
