SecurityInfoWatch.com on Changing Cybersecurity Mindset to Reduce Security Concerns, Breach
Hikvision Helps Employees and Partners Identify Examples of Phishing, Reduce Security Breach and Malware
In the SecurityInfoWatch.com article, “Cyber threats invade the physical security world,” the CEO of Sensato Cybersecurity Solutions, John Gomez, outlines potential cyber threats and recommends a change in mindset to reduce security concerns and potential breach.
From the article: “… attackers bet on people’s rationalization–they will click a link or take some action that on the surface may seem harmless or even like the right thing to do but leads to a security breach. For example, in testing for security vulnerabilities, Gomez says his firm has had someone wait in a wheelchair in the rain with no coat on outside an employee entrance until someone will inevitably ask how they can help and let them inside the building.”
Gomez added: “Why does that work? Because I know, psychologically, if I put someone in a wheelchair and they’re wet and they’re cold, people are going to help, which is great unless you’re trying to protect a facility.”
The key to cyber change, according to the article, is to change the mindset of the employees in the organization so they can respond differently to scenarios that could lead to security breach or other cybersecurity incidents.
