Hikvision on Roles and Responsibilities to Avoid Cybersecurity Breach
The SecurityInfoWatch.com (SIW) article, “93% of cybersecurity professionals concerned about cyberattacks shutting down operations,” found the majority of security professionals surveyed in a recent Tripwire report have concerns about security breach, hacks and other cyber threats.
Hundreds of industrial control system (ICS) security professionals from energy, manufacturing, automotive and other industries were surveyed by Tripwire.
“Cyberattacks against critical infrastructure and manufacturers pose a real threat to the safety, productivity and quality of operations. In these environments, where virtual and physical converge, cyber events can interfere with an operator’s ability to view, monitor or control their processes. Investing in industrial cybersecurity should be a priority in protecting operations from disruption,” said Kristen Poulos, VP and GM at Tripwire, in the article.
Additional survey findings include:
- 31 percent of organizations don’t have a baseline established for their operational technology devices and networks.
- 52 percent of respondents have more than 70 percent of their assets tracked in inventory.
- 44 percent stated that IT is leading their ICS security efforts.
- Cybersecurity education and training was the most common focus for those respondents who invested recently.
