Watch the Video: Using EI Smart Managed Switches with iVMS-4200 for Visual Topology, Remote Configurations, Live View, PTZ Control and More
We’ve launched a new video on the Hikvision USA YouTube channel that illustrates the ease and simplicity of managing Hikvision’s EI Smart Switches with our free iVMS-4200 software.
iVMS-4200 is a versatile client software available for Windows that helps you easily manage video surveillance, access control and video intercom systems. There are various modules for live view, playback, event management, e-maps, attendance and smart device data reporting. When used in conjunction with our EI Smart Switches, you can manage Visual Topology, display level and bandwidth alarm threshold, view device status, remotely configure, and receive notifications when a device is disconnected from the network.

EI Series Smart Switches are simple to deploy and designed to allow you to expand your surveillance system anytime and anywhere with our software platforms. These switches are available in 4, 8, 16 or 24x100 Mbps PoE ports for flexibility and scalability. Key switch features below can be managed via iVMS-4200 software.
- Easier Network Maintenance with Visual Topology Management: This unique 2D visual layout is available via iVMS-4200 or HikCentral and displays all the devices connected to a particular switch. It enables a bird’s-eye view of your entire network, making it easier to build and maintain.
- Real-Time Data with Network Health Monitoring: Users can view the real-time bandwidth of the network and device details at both ends.
- Reduce Costs with Real-Time Alarm Notifications: Greatly reduce the cost of network operations and maintenance by receiving real-time alerts. Switches display an alarm notification if network bandwidth exceeds the threshold. The camera tile will also turn red when it’s disconnected, providing a visual notification.
- Proactively Maintain Cameras with Video Live View: Live view can be generated when a Hikvision IP camera is connected to the smart managed switch, enabling users to quickly identify a camera in need of maintenance. PTZ control is also available when viewing a Hikvision IP PTZ camera.
