Hurricane-Related Education Sessions Added to ASIS 2017 Lineup
ASIS added a number of hurricane-related sessions and resources, as extreme weather from Hurricanes Harvey and Irma have disrupted the lives of millions of Americans in recent weeks.
Addressing the security implications of post-hurricane recovery efforts and disaster preparedness, ASIS added the free webinar "Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma: What's Next?" and the education session "Lessons Learned from Past Hurricanes that Will Make Your Organization More Resilient” to the ASIS 2017 educational program. The ASIS Crisis Management and Business Continuity Council produced the webinar that will be led by Firestorm CEO, James Satterfield and Bruce Blythe, chairman of R3 Continuum.
The ASIS 2017 site now has a new link to more than a dozen free resources including book excerpts, webinars, seminars and other content on natural disaster planning as well as crisis and emergency management.
Armadillo races, a mechanical bull riding competition as well as food and beverages will be on tap for an ASIS opening night event on Sunday, Sept. 24 at Gilley’s Dallas. Other events during the week include the President’s reception, an ASIS-sponsored Happy Hour and an evening for Canadian security professionals.
Hikvision is a silver sponsor for ASIS Canada Night, a hockey-themed event at the House of Blues Dallas on Monday, Sept. 25, one day before the exhibit hall opens. Up to 1,000 attendees from the Canadian and US security industry are expected to attend.
