Hikvision Corporate Debuts Artificial Intelligence Cloud
Hikvision headquarters, based in the Chinese city of Hangzhou, introduced its new technological development at the company-sponsored Artificial Intelligence (AI) forum in Shenzhen, China on October 28, 2017.
Announced in a corporate press release, the Hikvision AI Cloud enables the AI algorithm to move seamlessly from edge to cloud, improving efficiency for processing large amounts of data.
“Edge computing uses local computing to enable analytics at the source of the data. Powered by AI technology, it strengthens the sensing capability of front-end cameras, and helps us understand the captured scene more effectively and accurately,” said Hu Yangzhong, CEO of Hikvision in the press release. “With AI algorithms woven into the edge devices, only selected information such as an individual or a vehicle in a video image will be extracted and sent, which significantly enhances the transition efficiency and reduces the network bandwidth, while still sustaining high quality and accuracy.”
Artificial Intelligence is increasingly applied in the video surveillance industry, and Hikvision has paired this with increased use of deep learningalgorithms to deliver surveillance technology with improved analytics and business intelligence to eliminate security concerns across industry verticals.
