Hikvision Corporate Launches Under Vehicle Surveillance System
Hikvision headquarters, based in the Chinese city of Hangzhou, announced the launch of a new line of fixed and portable Under Vehicle Surveillance Systems (UVSS) in a corporate press release.
The Hikvision UVSS automatically screens every vehicle that enters or exits a parking site and accurately displays an image of the underside of a vehicle to detect dangerous objects and to reduce security concerns. The Hikvision fixed UVSS integrates with existing security systems and provides a super-wide field angle and critical protection level. The Hikvision portable model provides functional under vehicle surveillance for temporary applications and features an APNR (automatic number plate recognition) camera with HD imagery and easy integration.
Hikvision’s UVSS works as a discrete vehicle chassis detection unit to perform security and safety inspections on the underside of vehicles, eliminating potential threats for critical infrastructure applications, military facilities, public venues and other applications requiring extra security.
A similar product is planned for release in North America, with capability to integrate into Hikvision NVRs and License Plate Recognition solutions. “The key business opportunity for current Hikvision (security) integrator partners will likely come from a derivative product, the UVIS (under vehicle inspection system), which we also showed at ASIS this year. It can be used for access control at the entrance to a corporate building, shopping mall, border patrol or critical infrastructure entrance,” said Jeffrey He, president of Hikvision USA Inc. and Hikvision Canada Inc. in an interview with leading security publication SecurityInfoWatch.com.
