Hikvision Launches DarkFighterX Low Light Surveillance Technology
Hikvision announced the launch of its new DarkFighterX technology that delivers sharp, colorful images in low light conditions.
Hikvision’s DarkFighterX security camera improves upon its DarkFighter technology by providing colorful, sharp images in low light to 0.001 lux, according to the corporate product release. The DarkfighterX series includes a PTZ and bullet camera, which both feature optical defog, 25 times optical zoom, 2MP resolution, and smart detection.
“Faces are sharper and easier to recognize and the surroundings much clearer to see, even in the lowest light. All of this makes images much more valuable for evidence collecting and case solving,” said Peter Guan, Hikvision channel sales director in the press release. Guan added that the majority of crimes happen at night.
“Hikvision’s original DarkFighter technology delivers low-light color imaging, but the new DarkfighterX brings it to a completely new level,” said Jeffrey He, president of Hikvision USA, Inc. and Hikvision Canada, Inc. in an interview with leading security publications SecurityInfoWatch.com and SD&I. “It’s one thing to be able to see low-light color images, but to be able to see the color of clothes or color of a vehicle at night enables true 24/7 surveillance.”
Just as the human eye collects color and brightness to merge into a full color picture, DarkFighterX captures information from the IR sensor for brightness and from a visible light sensor for color, then combines them to create a bright, full-color image.
